Anyway, on to pasta sauce. I was thinking I would make some in each country. Turns out, we got tired of pasta and once we hit Great Britain, we had all we needed to make whatever we wanted. As told in previous blogs we've made homemade chocolate chip cookies, guacamole and refried beans. We had our host over for dinner and are getting really good at quick dinners and take away lunches. Tonight, after a day spent biking around Rottnest Island (I assume Steve or Autumn will post about this - check my FB or Insta for the Quokkas), I was easily able to bake up some chicken and have a healthy dinner simply because the ingredients are so easy to obtain. And while I am on this subject, Australia has many American foods that we have missed! Not sure we want to leave.
Other musings...
-Our planet is INCREDIBLE!!! Everywhere is beautiful in it's own unique way. I cannot understand the quest for Mars when there is so much to save here!
-People are just trying to do and get the same things in life. Respect and love are high on the list and unfortunately many believe this requires material things to obtain. I am a firm believer that if we could all just have some more respect and love for each other, the material things would lose their glitz and glamour.
-I have the best family ever! These little humans and my hubby are so fun to watch and learn from. The way they approach life is different than I could ever come up with and it's taught me to appreciate so many more views.
-Now that we have driven on the left side of the road for 4 months, I am not sure I can go back to the other side!
-I love accents! I could listen to the all day and I get to! We also have new lingo for so many things. Shopping carts are now trollies, take out is now take away, rent is now hire, vacation is holiday, elevator is lift and we say sawa for 'ready to go?'.
-I still miss home like nothing else, but I have learned to appreciate the discomforts and challenges and am truly grateful for this experience.
-When we get home we want another dog, a kitten and a fish tank along with a herd of guinea pigs (that is Steve's request - no seriously).
-Emirates is the best airline EVER!! Hope we get to fly them again....I will pay more money to do so!
Pleepleus and I in the belly of a Roo in Western Oz. |
Pleepleus on the train in Dubai - should be advertised and used more than taxis. Way cheaper, cleaner and super easy!! |
Water parks are so fun! We should do this more! Until next time...in a few months;) |
