Anyways, the Lofoten islands are very pretty. Yesterday we saw the midnight sun, which was really cool. The sun went through the clouds, and I could see the beams of light. Lots of people have asked, "How do you sleep there if the sun never sets?!?", and to answer that I have simply gotten used to the brightness. I don't think the rest of the family is quite as used to it, because they have towels acting like blackout shades over their windows (I am in the loft, and they have their rooms).
Earlier yesterday we went on our AirBnb host's boat and the boys went fishing (Mom stayed home because she didn't want to be cold)
Bryce and Dad caught a mackerel.
Zane caught a cod, but was a bit afraid of it touching him...(notice how he's holding the bait far away from him)
Bryce caught a cod as well, but he wasn't afraid of touching it. :)
The boat could go super fast
This is a view from the boat of the rorbus next to our rorbus on the water.
We also went to a beach yesterday, and Dad climbed this rock.
We also went on a hike yesterday along a small fjord with a fishing town situated by it.The day before yesterday we went to some beaches
Zane and Bryce together on a rock...they were experimenting with the waves
SHEEP. The sheep here go on the beach sometimes, and the graze on the grasses around the sand.
Heart rock by the beach...all love
I caught Bryce mid-sneeze
Bryce's feet were really sandy, and so it hurt him to put his shoes on, so Dad carried him to the car.
Drawing in the sand
More sheep on the beach. :)
There were lots of shells at one of the beaches
Bryce was excited to show me some water bugs in a tiny tide pool
This is the view from our rorbu
This is under the deck...the wood frames the mountains well.
Washed up jelly fish
It turns out that Norway uses the marshmallow hay method just like Iceland. I'd seen lots of stacked up marshmallows on the side of the road, and I really wanted to climb them, so I did. Each individual marshmallow was bigger than I thought.
More pictures of the coast
Bryce was being silly in the Narvik airport (the one in the Lofoten Islands)
This was street art in Bergen
I love warm hats and beanies...and my dad got me this wonderful long stocking cap...I love it!
